If you do not live in the Calgary area, and want to join and train in the Genbukan World Ninpo Bugei Federation:
1 - Check with the www.genbukan.ca website to see which school is closest to you. If there is another school that is closer, contact them directly.
2 - If the Genbukan Daigo Dojo is the closest school, contact us via email at calgaryninja@shaw.ca.
Distance training is no issue if you are serious about learning martial arts.
Depending on your schedule and commitment level, we will arrange times when you will come in to Calgary for some training.
In times when you are training on your own, you can review your notes and work through the techniques.
Also, with permission, you can obtain official copies of the DVD's for the current rank you are studying from the Honbu website at www.genbukan.org. You must note that the DVD's are for reference only and are not the best way to learn self-defence. A qualified teacher is needed not only to help you learn but for your rank testing as well.
It is important that you are in communication with the school regularly, and do not join any other ninpo/ninjutsu organization.
You are also not authorized in any way to teach or show others what you are learning. ONLY officially authorized instructors are allowed to teach GWNBF and KJJR syllabus. A list of the Canadian instructors can be found on www.genbukan.ca.
A schedule of training times at the Genbukan Daigo Dojo can be set up in advance.
Fees for distance training differ from the regular classes. This will be based on how many hours of private instruction you require.
ALL students studying Genbukan Ninpo and Kokusai Jujutsu must be members of the GWNBF and KJJR. This requires an application to be completed and small annual fee sent to Honbu Dojo to maintain your rank and membership within the organizations.
Lastly, even though you are distance training, you still must ensure that your relationship with the school and it's teacher are honest and open with good manners. Failure to do so will result in immediate expulsion.
