About Dojo Cho Alan Scofield
Alan Scofield has been involved in social services
as well as private sector work for many years.
Alan Scofield founded the Genbukan Daikensho School
in November of 2004. The school was opened to bring the martial
art of Ninpo to more people. There are many schools in Calgary claiming
that they are instructing in Ninpo or the true ways of the ninja
but this is not the case.
ONLY a Dojo-Cho, or Group Leader is allowed to
teach these techniques to others. Only those listed on the official
www.genbukan.org website are licensed to instruct. Anyone
removed from the school forfeits all of their ranks, titles, and
documents and is FORBIDDEN to teach others.
The dojo was officially renamed by Grandmaster
Tanemura on November 6, 2006.
The Genbukan Daigo school is Officially
Sanctioned as a true school for the instruction
of Ninpo and is open to all ages. We are very thankful for Grandmaster
Tanemura's kindness and generosity in renaming the school.
The Genbukan Daigo Dojo is for the betterment of
people through effective self-defence techniques, empowerment, etiquette
and respect, physical fitness, and personal growth. Each student
is valued as we all train together to live up to the high ideals
of what Grandmaster Tanemura Tsunehisa Shoto has set forth.

"I would like to thank both Soke Tanemura and Shibu Cho Wideman
for their support, encouragement and care over the recent months.
I am glad that I have earned their respect and care.
"Peace at any price is not an option. Sometimes we just have
to accept that there is no saving some people. No matter how much
we care or how loyal we are."
