A Letter from Dojo Cho Alan Scofield
From time to time,
I believe it is best to write some thoughts down about the school
and so on. This section will contain the most recent letter to students
and potential students. Past letters will be located in the archives
section. This is one of the few areas that I write personally and
so it is with my heart that I write to you.

Dear Students,
Any student of the Genbukan Daigo Dojo, no matter who they are or
what rank they are, is a student of the Genbukan World Ninpo Bugei
Federation.
The techniques taught are the intellectual property of the Genbukan
World Ninpo Bugei Federation and Soke Tsunehisa Tanemura.
Any student, who has been banned or removed from the Genbukan Daigo
Dojo, immediately loses all ranks held, certificates, diplomas,
and/or titles and is absolutely forbidden to “instruct”
others in the techniques they have learned.
Let me be clear that any student leaving the school for any reason
does lose all of their ranks. But a student whohas left for personal
reasons, injury, and so on can apply for reinstatement and must
check test in order to regain their ranks. This is not a big deal
and happens frequently.
However, any other student who has removed, expelled, or
banned from the Genbukan Daigo Dojo loses not only all of their
ranks, but all diplomas, certificates, titles (honorary or otherwise),
and anything else of that nature. Whether they are self-promoting
or trying to use former credentials of the Genbukan to do so, neither
is acceptable under any circumstances.
So, unless anyone else is confused, I am being clear here and now.
Sincerely,
Alan Scofield
