All students are to understand that training fees are for safe, training time within the dojo.

The teacher is there to help you with your training, and ensure that goals are clearly defined and monitored on a quarterly basis, as well as provide a safe and respectful environment.

Failure to attend classes regularly, failure of manners or compassion, and lack of desire are not valued behaviours.

The teacher only has so much time each class and so he must spend it on those students who are taking their training and goals seriously. If, after review, the student continues not to meet their goals or show effort to do so, the student will be removed from the program.

All training fees are non-refundable.

All new students are required to purchase a training uniform from the school.

We supply a medium weight training uniform that has been approved by the teacher. This uniform will come within a few weeks of your enrollment, once we have sized you and ordered your training uniform. In the meantime, please wear training sweats, tshirt, and socks. No zippers allowed as it damages the tatami mats.

The cost of the training uniform is $50 CDN plus GST and is in addition to the training fees.

All new students are required to complete their GWNBF and KJJR enrollment forms to be sent to Soke Tanemura in Japan within one month of their training.

This is mandatory for all students
. This fee is paid in the form of a US money order and ensures your entry and ranking into the official student rank logs at Honbu Dojo in Japan. Speak with the teacher directly about this. Students will eventually recieve the Genbukan Passbook and memerbship number as well as their  Genbukan and KJJR patches and special letter of welcome from Soke Tanemura.

All students, in February of each year must renew their membership for the GWNBF and KJJR.

This fee maintains your rank within the GWNBF and KJJR and is mandatory. The renewal fees are collected in February and sent to Japan for March 1st. This fee is paid in the form of a US money order. Speak with the teacher directly about this.

Training fees are always to be paid two weeks prior to their due date.

They are to be placed in a sealed envelope with all the details written on the outside of the envelope including name, mnembership #, what it is for, the amount, etc.

This envelope can be handed to one of the senior students or placed on the teacher's desk. Do not hand training fees directly to the teacher. Remember to include GST.

Receipts can be provided if required for such things as child tax credit for fitness program etc.

PLEASE NOTE:  (Effective Jan 1, 2012)

All City of Calgary Employees, members of the Calgary Police Service, Calgary Fire Department and Alberta Health Services members including EMS service personnel will receive 25 % off their adult training fees when they enroll in a 6 month or one year program.

This offer is only for adult students and does not apply to family members.

Potential Students must still be accepted into the school by the Head Instructor and they must still abide by all of the rules of conduct associated with the school. This does not apply to private classes or any other program offered at the school at this time.

This offer does not extend to training uniforms, other equipment, grading fees or annual membership to the GWNBF and KJJR.

Private Classes

These classes are planned for in advance. It must be clear as to what specifically the student wants to work on. It is primarily for currently enrolled students who want to brush up on some techniques they need more work on, preparing for testing, or who like to add a little bit of one on one time with the teacher working on their curriculum.

The cost of One Hour of Private Instruction is $80 plus GST. This includes the Head Instructor, an Uke (training partner), and facility costs.

Students within the school can elect to be placed on the Uke Training List. If the person is available to be an uke for a private class, they will be paid $20 for their time. They must also come prepared and be knowledgeable on what the private class will focus on. All private classes will have an uke present. This will be determined by the teacher.

Private classes can be shared by another student in order to share the cost but this is only with approval of the teacher. An uke is not then required in this instance.

Accelerate! Course

Review the Program tab for full details of this program. This is a very specific program for those who want to develop their full potential quicker and with greater results than enrollment in regular group classes.

The course consists of eight (8) two-hour training sessions to be completed within a three month schedule, set between the student and teacher at the commencement of the course.

Enrollment in this course does not exclude you from also enrolling in regular group classes if you desire to do so.

This course offers considerably more than an indivudal private one time class that are primarily used for small amounts of extra learning, usually in preperation for testing, etc.

Cost of this course is $ 800 plus GST. A training uniform is required as well as annual membership fee to GWNBF and KJJR.
